Dictionary.com says the verb "emulate" means this:

--to imitate (a particular computer system) by using a software system, often including a microprogram or another computer that enables it to do the same work, run the same programs, etc., as the first.







Now, in this case, I am talking about video game emulators.



These EMUs (abbreviated happy ) basically PRETEND to be the video game system of their programming.







Here are some examples:



PJ64 - Project 64 is an emulator for Nintendo64


Dolphin - Dolphin is an emulator for Gamecube
